Content marketing platform for a laxative brand (@ Syde)

When Project A approached Syde to build a new website to kick-off a content marketing campaign for a laxative brand, I was one of two developers tasked with delivering the project within a month after being handed the design specifications.

About the project

Key features of this project:

  • Responsive web development based on screen designs in Figma with a strong focus on illustrations
  • Creation of an extensive content pattern library for the creation of engaging content
  • A custom newsletter service sign-up integration

Responsibilities during this project

As front end developer, I was responsible for the global site styles and building a pattern library to be used by editors to compose the individual landing pages and resource articles according to the design.

As technical project lead, I was the main point of contact for the product owner working for Project A, giving regular product updates and informing decisions about priority and scope.

Learnings from this project

  • I became aware of the immense value of having an experienced product owner involved with the project (kudos to Alis!) from the perspective of the development team. Clear and timely feedback and direct and transparent communication made the quick turnaround on this project possible.
  • It was great to see how the high level of trust between team members opened up room to discuss implementation decisions and overcome disagreements to deliver under pressure.
